The Israeli capacity quota has been doubled!

Two weeks after the Israeli PUA (Public Utilities Authority) announced that the 35MW that have been allocated for small (industrial 50kw) PV power implementations has been maxed out, the authority announced that it will raise the quota by 10MW in order for implementations that are underway will be completed. These 10 MW will keep the old tariff 1.97 NIS.
For the market to continue growing, the PUA recommended to set allocate another 50MW quota for new implementations. The new tariff will be set at 1.61 NIS, 0.36 NIS lower than the original tariff. The lowering of the feed in tariff has been accepted with bitterness by the market, since it is contrary to similar markets trend throughout Europe and the world that continue to raise the feed in tariffs offering greater opportunities for this young exciting indunstry
