Coreflow is a market leader in the float manufacturing industry. The organization develops and produces handling processes, treatment and processing for the FPD (Flat Panel Display) industry and the Photovoltaic industry. Coreflow’s non-contact handling process offers its clients production advantages, precision and production increase.
In September 2009, Coreflow showcased the revolutionary SingFlowTM system, in the 24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition which took place in Hamburg. We met with Eric Joely and asked him about Coreflow and its unique systems.
“Coreflow was founded in 1999 and started off by supplying hands off handling systems for LCD glass. We succeeded, due to our unique technology, and generated business ties with leading company such as Orbotech and Applied Materials. Naturally, from there we continued to grow and continued to develop our product line and aspirations.
18 months ago we it dawned upon us that we can apply our technology successfully in the photovoltaic market as well. In the production process of photovoltaic panels, silicon is sliced via a string saw. After the slicing procedure, the fragile slices stick to each other with remarkable strength, and today are separated manually. The manual process creates fluctuation in production rates, high production costs and high breakage percentages. SingFlowTM systems offer auto-mechanical separation of these slices from one another and their transfer to the rest of the production line without human handling.”
SingFlowTM has successfully passed tests in two large European companies and Coreflow is currently negotiating with a number of other leading European organizations
“at the moment we are at the last testing phases. We believe this will be completed towards the end of December 2009 and we will start marketing beta systems in January 2010.” Eric believes the beta testing will be completed towards the end of the second quarter of 2010 and then Coreflow will begin mass marketing.
To our question about International Conferences and Exhibitions as business expansion platforms, Eric talked about Coreflow’s plans to participate in the upcoming PVEXPO in Japan (3-5 March 2010) and then possibly another event between April and July 2010.
“In Conferences, especially international ones, we encounter three types of clients. The first are the “walk-in” clients. Representatives of companies that we have no relationships with and did not know about us and thus new ties are created. The second are people that have seen some publication or press release, and come to meet us. The third class of clients we meet are those we personally invite and thus we strengthen our ties with them. This is important for both parties to stay in touch with new advances and market trends and needs. Such knowledge is crucial for us to adapt ourselves to the market.”
Coreflow’s headquarters are in Yokneam, and is already a decade old. Coreflow’s contribution to the Renewable energy market strengthens Israel’s position as an international laboratory for developments and innovations. SingflowTM system is a leap forward for Coreflow positioning it as a strong supplier for photovoltaic industry.
